Anti-explosive material Traditional explosion-proof lamp shade is mainly made of cast aluminum. It is high cost for developing the mold and producing the products, for steel and aluminum are non-renewable resources, and they are in shortage recently. Considering the design of lamp, the cast alumimun ones are heavy weighted and have higher requirement for wind velocity to lamp post and hoding strength. SMC is the abbreviation of Sheet Molding Compound. It is made of special voile, unsaturated resin, low shrinkage additive, fillings and various aid reagents. It firstly appeared early 1960s in Europe and then the USA and Japan follow to develop the technics in about 1965. We introduced the technology for SMC and the whole working line in the end of 1980s. It has an excellent electrical properties, physical properties, thermal properties, flame retardant properties and mechnical properties. As it has the same properties as some metal materials, we can adjust the proportion of ingredient to make a kind of SMC material to produce the explosion-proof lamp shades, which are antistatic, flame resistant, thermal stable, high strength and corrosion resistant, as well as they have long service life and high production efficiency.
